Composition and Rhetoric II: Critical Writing about Literature

Combined a survey of literature with critical writing and composition techniques. The first segment focused on short stories; the second, drama; the third, poetry; the fourth, the novel. Required both short essays and a research paper dealing with these works. (4 sections)

Business Writing

Taught students the rhetorical principles and writing practices necessary for producing high quality business letters, memos, reports, and collaborative projects in professional contexts. Instilled the rhetorical principles that helped students shape their business writing for multiple audiences in a variety of professional situations. (12 sections)

Technical Writing

Taught students strategies for achieving effective technical communication, culminating in the writing of documentation for their varied projects. Engaged students not only in the practical aspects of technical communication in their fields, but also the theories behind these aspects. English Pronunciation and Grammar

Taught advanced English to speakers of Romanian and Russian in partnership with native teachers, focusing on American pronunciation along with grammatical principles. Worked for two weeks in the summer of 2001.

Advanced English Grammar

Taught classes on advanced English grammar and technique to natives who wished to become English teachers themselves. Worked in concert with native teachers for one month in the summer of 2000.

Intermediate English Grammar
