I have gathered informations on issues of video downloading and compiled them together for writing the draft for the white paper. My portion will be done by monday we get back from the spring break. Entry 1:

I am a member of Video Download group. We met last time in class to write the memo for the project. We got the graded memo back to us today in class. We have talked about the comments on the memo that might change the course of this project.

We have project planning activity in class today. We wrote a memo about the schedule of the project and reviewed our goal. We have divided our research parts into issues, legal implications and solutions. Timeline for the project was generated.

Movies and TV shows can be downloaded through internet for free. Many of TV shows are distributed online by major broadcasting companies for free, so internet users and producers of video have less conflict. The problem rises in the movie industry. Movies can be downloaded before they are in theaters. This is illegal by the law, but people use P2P or some other internet sources to download the contents. We need some protections for the industry or alternative distribution methods to keep the movie industry healthy. Otherwise, people will stop going to the theater.
