Individual Work Blog Week 3
Mon, 03/09/2009 - 14:26 — jbombard
I've recieved responses from both companies and friends who are seeking jobs about Facebook's use by companies.
Most companies I've contacted deny using Facebook for either hiring or employee screening. However, many job seekers I have spoken with at Purdue report many strange people, most older than college age, trying to friend them on Facebook after they visited job fairs or sent resumes in on CCO.
I believe some companies may not be entirely honest with me on this subject, and might not want to disclose the information they use to determine who to hire.

Mon, 03/09/2009 - 14:10 — eroller
We met during class time on Monday March 9. We talked about our resources and the progress on the completion of our research summaries as well as decided that we would use MLA formatting for citing the white paper resources. We decided to meet on Thursday at 5PM in the computer lab where class is held to begin to put together the rough draft of our white paper. The goal for the next meeting is roughly draft the white paper and begin to put together visuals and make arrangement decisions.

Individual Blog-eBay Group
Mon, 03/09/2009 - 12:11 — ally
So far things have been going smoothly. I've gathered research on ways that eBay could hold their users more accountable. Many people will keep creating accounts after they've been kicked off eBay for fraud. This can be prevented by users having to enter either their social security number, drivers license number, etc to gain an eBay account. I've learned that not all countries have identification numbers, but most do. It seems like drivers license numbers are most common. This upcoming week I will begin writing my portion of the paper.
