Decisions Made: Time of next meeting, and the scope of our project, also the division of research.

Plans For The Next Meeting: Delegate tasks and finalize dates for completion. Review scope with entire group, and agree on details.

Topics Discussed: Dividing up duties for research and composition of the white paper project.

Entry 1:

I am a member of Video Download group. We met last time in class to write the memo for the project. We got the graded  memo back to us today in class. We have talked about the comments on the memo that might change the course of this project.

We have project planning activity in class today. We wrote a memo about the schedule of the project and reviewed our goal. We have divided our research parts into issues, legal implications and solutions. Timeline for the project was generated.

INTERNET CENSORSHIP GROUP MEETING #2:
When/Where: In class Wed. Feb. 25th
Who: Mark, Paul, Dave
Goal: gather more information for white paper, discuss feedback from graded first memo
Topics: Gov't censorship, political control of internet. Net neutrality, ISP's vs google.
Decisions: use text from previous hearings in FCC about net neutrality, colombia prof's research
Tasks: gather info, email to finish new memo due fri.
Plans for next meeting: have completed memo turned in.
Other/etc: go liverpool fc!!!

Meet: In class, Wednesday

Attendance: Addy, Justin, Narin, Vanessa

Goals: Project planning

Overall topics discussed: when research needs to be completed by and when writing will begin and end to meet the deadlines of the project

Decisions made: Research needs to be completed by March 4th, writing will begin March 9-14th, after Spring Break, completion of the draft will occur and after the draft is due, the final paper and presentation will be completed by March 30.

February 25, 2009
Today we met for the remainder of class in beering. Andrew, Sijia, and Deborah were here today. We delegated major tasks for the entire scope of the white paper project, and set up a timeline for the completion of these tasks. This also inculed the drafting of an informal memo of understanding. Our next meeting will most likely focus on research and topic developement for the draft.

Entry #1:

I am part of the Image copyright group. We meet last time to wirte the memo. I helped research the problem by looking for resources and identifying the problem. Our next step is to divide up the hisotry and extent of the problem for in depth research.

I am part of the Wiki group.  We were working on the Memo a couple of class periods ago and I helped contribute to that.  Once we got that done, we had a lecture on internet sources.  So far everything is going well and our group is working together great.

Our group chose my idea to focus on the RIAA's recent policy shift  from suing individuals to requesting help from internet service providers. I proofread the memo that Josh wrote and contributed to the edits that were made on Sunday. The next step is to begin researching sources and collecting facts that we can use for our paper.

Decisions: We each mailed each other the vision that we had for a proposal.

Delegations: Will was delegated to merge the proposals together
