Topic Proposal: Internet Censorship: Not a Good Thing

Censoring the internet will have negative effects. The internet is a medium of communication that allows any one with access to be heard and to hear others. This allows the exchanging of ideas and information that benefits everyone. Peers can collaborate on works across the world; cultures can exchange ideas and learn from each other. Regulating or censoring this valuable medium of communication would restrict the exchange of information and hinder progress. In the United States, such censorship would violate the right of free speech. Each person has the right to express his or her opinion and the internet is a good medium for expressing oneself. Any sort of censorship would violate this right, as some opinions could be removed.
