Individual Blog - Gaming Pirates
Fri, 02/27/2009 - 17:04 — jnielsen
I started to do basic reseach on currently techniques used to prevent video game piracy. I discovered that Star-Force is a decent protection method used to protect the actual game media it self. I have also reasearched how CD/DVD keys have been used to provide basic protection. Doing research I also discovered online distribution methods such as Steam by VALVE can be used to make pirating difficult.

Individual Blog Entry: Photo Copyright
Fri, 02/27/2009 - 16:46 — athomas
After class today, I researched for articles related to our topic through Purdue Library's online databases and Google Scholar. I started getting many more "hits" when I started using the keywords "digital rights management". I have saved several articles that I believe will be useful in drafting our white paper, although some articles are contradictory, suggesting that digital rights management is becoming decreasingly important.

Online Gaming Group - Individual Blog 1
Fri, 02/27/2009 - 16:18 — obrown
This week our group switched our focus to making a game for Nintendo Wii that would compete with role-playing games. I provided some input for the memo involving the health risks with continuous online gaming. For our scope of work, I volunteered to research the health benefits of Nintendo Wii versus sitting in front of a computer screen playing games all day. Despite class being cancelled Monday, our group decided to meet at 3:30 to research.

Individual Blog Entry: Wiki Group
Fri, 02/27/2009 - 16:16 — jbosserm
This week I began researching the registering of users on Wikipedia. I found a few specific articles pertaining to my research. I plan on continuing my research and compiling everything in a document that can be used when we meet as a group to compose the draft.
