Censorship Individual: Blog 2

This week so far I have done research in the areas of psychologically how individuals and populations respond to gradual introductions to novel ideas as well as how past communist regimes have dealt with changes both immediate and gradual.  I have found a few print resources (Democracy and its alternatives, The Helsinki Effect, Internet Filtering in China) which touch on the topic of the reaction of the Communist governments to change.  I intend to write a summary for my research this week and have it ready by March 7 or 10 to present to my group and begin to put together a rough

Censorship Group: Meeting 3

Our group met on Monday the 2 of March at 2:30.  The entire group (John, Hu, Brett, and Liz) were all present.  The goal of this meeting was to discuss the research we had done to date as well as to expand upon that research and discuss plans for linking them together.  Our goals for the next meeting are to have written introductions or summaries of our delegated research topics and begin to piece them together into a rough draft, as well as to maintain lists of our citations.  In the next meeting we will begin to put together the rough draft of our paper from

Individual Work Blog Week 2

Today I emailed the human resources department of different companies around Lafayette, asking about their use of Facebook for screening potential employees, and how much effect what they find on there has on their decision to hire those people.

Individual Blog - Wikipedia Group

This week I researched sources regarding the extent of the unreliability of Wikipedia. Within the next few days, I will finish up the majority of my research and write about my findings in the "Extent of the Problem" portion of our group's white paper. When our group meets next to compose the paper, other group members will edit / peer review what I have come up with so far.

White Paper Individual Project Log

Entry 2

At the meeting on Wednesday of this week, I was responsible for the layout of the Understanding memo, as well as putting the finishing touches on the content. I have been assigned the "Open Registration" portion of the white paper, as opposed to the "Anonymous Posting" or "Restricted Registration" portions.

Inidividual Blog: Internet Censorship

This week I spent most of the week in the critical care unit of The Kellog Center in Northwestern's hospital in beautiful Evanston Illinois. As such, the amount of work I was able to dedicate to the internet censorship white paper project was very small. The little bit of work I was able to accomplish was basicly just a simple overview of the concepts and impact of Net Neutrality as seen by those that feel they are greatly affected by it. The research I did revovlved around internet censorship and specifically Net Neutrality from a government standpoint.

Individual Project Log 1 - Mark Laczin

So far, I have participated in the creation of all of the things our group has done.  I have also started and enforced meeting times.

As far as research is concerned, I have just found what my field of research will be for this project and I plan to look for information tonight and over the weekend.

Individual project blog 1: work up until 2/27/2009

For the last week I have participated in all group meetings. In addition I have helped to merge all of our various "idea" documents into the final document which was turned in. In addition I have created my own "idea" documents which were used to contribute to content.
